Welcome to the 2010 ACE RACE page.
Check back here for updates!
Date: September 4th Time: 9:30-11:15 Pick up player packs and start warming up. . . . 11:30 Players meeting, and T-off to follow. (this time may change, but is an hour later than last year, to hopefully avoid any cross country runners.) Where: Maxwell Park, Normal, IL What: ACE RACE. With doubles to follow. Divisions: Open - Women - Youth (14 and under) Player Pack: Everyone who enters will receive two brand new Discraft prototype discs (to be used during the event), One Really cool discraft super color mini, and an awesome discraft premium ball cap. PLUS a Really cool Bag tag (see below) (All of this valued at $65). Cost: A measly $25. With the prizes and player pack, you'd be silly not to enter this. Great return on entry fee, and a great time. This one is a can't miss event. Prizes: Open winner will receive a Prize package including 10 brand new Discraft discs and a Discraft bag. The Winners of the Women's division and youth divisions will each receive a new Fadegear bag with at least 7 discs. I'm going to try to get prizing for the top 3 of each division. . . . Fun and unique holes including a mini hole. . . . Baked goods by Em'ly (I haven't begged her yet, so this isn't a guarantee)
To Register: Please send a check (Made out to David owens) to: 308 W Kickapoo Dr. Downs, IL 61736 -Or- send a payment to me Via Paypal to: Snewoevad@gmail.com (Add $1.25 for paypal fees) -Or- Pay me directly at any event I'm at.
Things to remember about registering: 1. Make sure I have your name and phone number that I can reach you at in case something comes up and I need to contact you. 2. If you don't see your name on the list of registered players, you aren't registered. So if you paid me, make sure I get your name on there.
After hearing about this years disc, and keeping in mind it is a mid-range: The course will be set up so that all of the tees are between 125 and 190 feet. The Ladies and Youth divisions will generally throw from 25 to 40 ft closer except on the shortest holes. More information to come as it becomes available. |

If you'd like to donate a prize toward the Women's division and the youth division, I'd be eternally grateful! I may even be able to get you a free baked good or two.
I will also probably need a few baskets for the course in order to get us as many chances at hitting an ace as possible.
If you have a mini basket, I'd like to borrow one. It would be fun to have two mini holes this year.
If you would like to help out by helping set up or take down the course, that would be awesome!
If you know someone that would like to volunteer at Tournament Central by staying there during the round and watching the food and stuff, that would be great too.
As you can tell, I'm trying to make this event even better than last year's event. to do so, I'm hoping that our disc golf community can step forward and help out. This should be a really fun day, and the more help I get to pull this off, the more fun we'll have.
If you can donate or help, please email me snewoevad@gmail.com or call me 309-Eight three eight-4488.
Dear Disc, Please go where I want you to go, Not where I threw you. Sincerely, DaveO PDGA-# 33544 |

I am in! A doubles tournament afterward?! Sweet! I'll get you the $25 when I see you. I may have a disc or two to donate & probably some food as well :) Time to give back to the tournament that has treated me so well.

Yes! Two discs, super color mini, premium ball cap, and cool bag tag! $65 retail value for just $25. And a really fun day of chuckin' discs. You can't beat this with a stick.

Pretty sweet! Did we ever get our photo posted last year? Are you sure we can't beat it with a stick? What about with a bat?

I think J-Man is right. This could easily take a stick beating. By definition anything that is physical and tangible could be subjected to a stick beating. Doesn't deserve one, but that wasn't the point.

Exactly! Thanks for the support & understanding! I mean really, even the TD of the event could take a beating, there are just so many variables & options! J/K of course, but you catch my drift. It is the fact it COULD happen, unlike what you have claimed.
Thank you thread drift :)
