He took out 10 people that were rated higher than himself including four 1,000 rated players. Great job, Mr. Strasser!
Dear Disc, Please go where I want you to go, Not where I threw you. Sincerely, DaveO PDGA-# 33544 |

What a fun event! Very similar to the Peiradise tourney in Peru,In this is a private course with lodgeing on site ($$$Pricey$$$), a sandy beach lake, and LOTS of woods, twisting rolling hills with tight lines, (A longer Eureka for the 2nd round and 1st rd as well.
We played 1 rd of 27 each day like most courses there is that run of birdie holes mixed in with some classic line shots that make you go ooh heres trouble, 1 bad tree nick and your in bambi land bumming.
Being able to scramble and hit your lines is a must, having a hott pooder doesn't hurt either. .
This event has the party feel about it, so be warned if thats not your seen. After the rounds were over on Saturday they had the "Raft Toss" in which you pay $5 for 6 throws or $10 for 15 throws. A pondtoon boat picks 8 people off the dock at a time to 1 of 2 8'x8' floating rafts to throw to a temp basket about 200' away. Tradition is if you ace you have to jump in and swim/walk to shore. The baskets sits about 30'-40' from the shore with everyone cheering you on from the shore. There was an ace by Melissa Busch her first ace ever too cool. I got 3rd place for 1 of 4 ctp prizes easliy $125 worth of merch I was just touching the base ring.
I wished they had more info handouts for the schedule of events and maybe a food vender would of been cool. A beer barge would of made a killing while standing in line for the raft toss. The Awards ended about 8:00pm (over 200 players) for the pros the ams still had to redeem their vouchers at the pro shop so no telling when that ended. I got home about 3am this morning after a 7 hour ride.ooch!
Oh! I forgot to mention 90% of the cell phones don't get any service that far north so is old school time.
I guess its easy to say this is must event for all that enjoys the laid back party events with some good money to be won. This was close to my personal best of $650 bones for a peice of 2nd place. Had to come home to do some stuff for the BNO. Its hard not to go golfing most weekends. Oh well!
Rob

Awesome job, Rob. But I would rather you keep your hott pooder to yourself.

| Party in this case does not mean having a lot of fun while playing. This is in reference to a lot of illegal drug use. Please do not be one of those guys. |
