Entry Fee and Payout Details
Weekly entry fee will be paid out as follows:
$2 – Weekly cash payout to card winners
Each week, players will be grouped on cards with players of similar averages (3 - 4 players per card) to compete against those players for the weekly cash payout. The lowest score on each card wins ($6 – 8 per card).
$1 – Weekly CTP prizes (cash and disc)
Weekly CTP prizes will be awarded to the player who throws Closest To the Pin (CTP) on pre-selected holes. If more than 8 players compete in a week, two CTP prizes will be awared: a new premium Innova disc (selected by the winner from the available pool of pre-ordered discs) and a cash prize.
$2 – League Finale prize pool
On Saturday, October 10, the league will culminate with a “League Finale”: a final round of disc golf played on a specially designed “safari” layout at Maxwell Park. No entry fees will be collected for the League Finale. Players will be grouped on cards according to averages developed during the first seven weeks of league play (3 - 4 players per card). Money in the League Finale Prize Pool ($2 from each player collected during the first seven weeks of the league) will be divided between cards based on how much was paid in by the players on each card. Players will compete for the money allotted to their card ($24 - $60 per card).
A player must play four of the seven league nights to be eligible for the League Finale. This participation rule may be amended if league cancellations occur.
$1 – Ace Fund (optional)
The Ace Fund is paid out to any player who scores a hole in one (“ace”) during the league round. If no player records an ace, then the Ace Fund(s) rolls over to the next week. Once the Ace Fund reaches $100, a second Ace Fund is started (the maximum payout for a single ace is $100). Any unpaid Ace Fund(s) roll over to the next league. At the end of the 2009 Summer League, there was $264 in the Ace Fund (two $100 funds and a $64 fund).

Really looking forward to the opportunity to run a league. Big thanks to Dan for giving me the chance.
Since Dan's Fall League has been awesome the last few years, I don't think there's any reason to mess with the format. So, I'm planning to do singles with a small nightly payout and CTPs and an end of the league finale with cards divided by league average and a larger payout to the winner of each card.
I need to decide what night of the week works best for me, but I'm thinking we'll PROBABLY stick with Wednesday, since that night seems to work best for everyone else.
I'll post the "official flyer" ASAP, but if you have any strong opinions about the fall league format, please post here or talk to me on Wednesday night so that I can consider your inout before everything is finalized. |

Probably wont be able to make it to any of them since they will be earlier... therefore probably wont be eligible for the finale... awesome.

I wouldn't mind piggy backing Bag Tag tourney with an end of Fall league tourney on a Saturday or Sunday(Prefere Saturday). I liked the way it went last year though I did fairly poorly.
Dear Disc, Please go where I want you to go, Not where I threw you. Sincerely, DaveO PDGA-# 33544 |

Since I am not in the league is there anyway I could still play? Like pay $30 and get on a card? It would just be nuts for me to come down and only be able to play the bag tag tourney.

League details posted above. I'll bring flyers to the Summer League Finale tonight, post flyers at each course and give some to Alamo II and Campustown Supply to post.
Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement. This will be my first league, so I'm sure there will be a few bumps in the road. |

Clarification on the League Finale: If you cannot play the minimum number of league nights (four), you can buy in to the Finale by paying $2 per week that you missed so that you'll be "fully invested" in the prize pool.

I do not see why there is only 7 Fall League nights and then the finale is once again on a day that I can't do it. Fall goes deeper into October in my opinion. I am just sour because I wasn't able to make last years either. Well, I guess I dont have to worry about being eligible... because I wont be there. What is wrong with October 17th?

Fall doesn't technically start until Sept. 21, but the sun sets at about 6:45 PM in late September, so it's just not practical to coordinate the league with the actual seasons. As it stands right now, the sun will set at 6:35 PM on our final night of Fall League (9/30), so we're already going to have to play a VERY fast round to avoid playing in darkness.
If the majority of folks prefer to move our League Finale (and the Bag Tag Challenge) to another date, I'm AOK with that. I just picked October 10 because it appeared to be an open date and it was still relatively close to the end of Fall League. |

In my opinion there is no reason we can't have 2 leagues running at the same time. If there is a night that works better for you Noah, you should set one up. I'm CERTAIN you'd get alot of players.
Or perhaps a few glow rounds at the end of Dwights league?
