We know you have been waiting for it, and so here it is. This will be the second biggest event of the Series and will involve the most holes played for any single tournament of the Ledgestone Insurance Series. Here are the awesome details:

When: Saturday, August 11th
Time: Players Meeting at 7AM and Teeoff at 7:30AM
Courses: 3 rounds of 18 holes each, with the following courses used - Morton, ICC, and Eureka (in that order)
What: This "Frenzy" tournament will require a full day of disc golf. Three sanctioned rounds in one day throughout Central Illinois will be the challenge! This will be a PDGA B tier and will be pre-registration only. At this time we are only allowing 72 players. If we get more than 60 players signed up we will divide Pro/Adv and All Other Division into different course orders to accommodate more people and a shorter day. If that happens the Pro/Adv would play the same courses but play them in reverse.
Players Pack: All AM's will receive a Blizzard Champion disc. Also, the first 25 AM's to pre-register will get a DX Aviar.
Added Money: We will add at least $500 to the Pro Divisions.
Lunch: Goodfellas will be providing a box lunch with gondola, chips and a cookies for $7. We can take orders before the tournament or before the first round and have them at the second course.
Series Structure: This event will afford double points as this is a PDGA B Tier. Non PDGA members will need to pay an extra $10.

Pre-registration is at the following site:

http://illinoisdiscgolf.com/LISregistration-Ledgestone_Insurance_Frenzy.html

Here is the pricing for the tournament:

All Pro Divisions: $60
All Advanced Divisions: $45
All Other Amateur Divisions: $35

PDGA will be setup soon but we do already have a handful of players signed up so make sure to pre-register. This will be pre-registration only!

Five more registrations today for this event.....this event will absolutely fill up! Only five more spots remain for both free discs.....anyone signing up after the first 25 AMS still get a free blizzard plastic disc. We did get a big new shipment of blizzard plastic from Innova with different variations. Get signed up! This event does offer double the amount of LIS points because it is a B Tier!

We have approximately 40 people signed up for this event....all AMS that register get a Blizzard disc! The courses are looking great. Eureka is in top shape with the recent work of Mark Harston and Lee Maule and Morton is looking in top shape as well. Get signed up! Only 72 players will be allowed into this tournament.

Check out my facebook page for a taste of some of the trophies for Saturday!

How are points being calculated if we started the series in a different division but had to move based on PDGA rating updates?

Unfortunately the only fair way was to not allow the moving of points. It would not have been fair to other players if we allowed points to move across divisions, for any reason. The main reason is this:

You have someone who plays Recreation the entire series against 30 players. The Intermediate division averaged 15 players the entire series. The recreation player moves up to Int for the last event and gets last place. If he had played well in Recreation up to that point and been able to move his points to Intermediate, he could have won the Intermediate series because the Recreation division would have had more players.

There was no other way to go about doing it. Its simply not fair for points to be moved around because of the issue brought up with the number of players in a division. Everyone I talked with said this was extremely fair.

On another note, we have under 20 spots remaining for this event with a handful more people probably coming. We will leave paypal open through tomorrow so get signed up! We are going to have an awesome raffle and just picked up some big items from a few sponsors. We are going to have an awesome pen set, Peoria Rivermen Tickets, Hotel Suite giveways, a nice Innova basket, bags, shirts, hats, discs, and more! See you on Saturday at Morton!
